The TTP Project

The gym didn't
work out for me. When I arrived in Hamilton, I thought it'd a good time to start putting on some weight by exercising. However, the gym and I don't go along very well, unless there's a goal that is utterly important to me. It's not a question of determination, but of necessity. The fact that I'm more intellectual and consider reading ten times more stimulating than lifting weights might explain why as well.
Book in hand, I ran away from the gym to the nearest coffee shop and devoured my latest book, titled
From Certainty to Uncertainty. The author explains how our society gained so much confidence during the 20th century, to later discover more and more uncertainties and doubts about our vision and understanding of the universe. It's a good mix of science and philosophy that really makes me wonder how far science can explain why and how we exists.
While telescopes give us an incredible view of a forever expanding universe, scientists are scrutinizing matter and discovering smaller and smaller particles, only to be limited by the technology at hand to explore even deeper. And the worst part is that when we try to go even further, we're at the point where we disturb matter and can no longer be observers since we become participants and influence the observation.
If you've read about
string theory, you probably know that it mentions parallel coexisting dimensions. I like to imagine that these worlds are not parallel, but imbedded in one another. How amazing would it be to look deep into matter, only to find a replica of our universe? An endless loop in which one can see the future or past, depending if they zoom in or out of our world.. but that's just my imagination having fun, in a
recursive kind of way.
