But before, Trinidad
Published on May 14, 2006 by Mathieu
Okay, so I had to leave my weekend plans behind and head South for a few days. I'm currently in
Trinidad, a small island just North of Venezuela, in the Carribeans. Sounds pretty exciting, but I'm at a steel plant supporting one of our projects and therefore, not diving nor at the beach. However, I'm always pleased to discover a new country, no matter what brings me there.
A few minutes ago, to take my stomach out of boredom, I went to the plant's cafeteria and bought a few things to eat & drink. Let's see. Now, I have the choice to consume a Turkish Goflet chocolate bar, an Americain lemon-lime Gatorade or a Venezuelan peanut punch drink, which strangely is classified as a dairy product. Let's try that one first. Smells like peanut butter. Oups, forgot to shake. Shaking. That's enough. Now, for taste.. not bad! It tastes like a melted
Reeses with milk. It's actually quite good, and I'm now very glad I tried the peanut punch, even if the cashier at the cafeteria couldn't give me a favorable opinion. Apparently, peanut punch is what replaces chocolate milk in Trinidad. Interesting!
Time for me to tour the plant again and check if everything is going alright. That's the least I can do, apart from learning the automation software already written or dreaming about diving in the Carribean sea..
